Prostate cancer can become deadly as it progresses. My team will study the tumor microenvironment, where certain cells may protect tumors from the immune system. We have recently discovered a unique type of secretory cell that resembles some kind found also in the lung. By using advanced genomic technologies, we aim to understand how these cells help the tumor to develop and interact with the immune system. Our goal is to translate target these cells with new personalized cancer treatments
