Data protection for grant applicants

The Cancer Foundation collects, processes and makes use of your personal data in order to identify you. Your personal data is stored on the Cancer Foundation’s grant application database.

You will be obliged to provide the following personal data: name, academic qualification, occupation / position, date of birth, domicile, address, telephone number, email, and the names of possible research team members. Grant recipients are asked to provide their ID and banking details.

The processing of personal data is for the Cancer Foundation to process grant applications and approved grants and monitor grant use.  The processing of personal data is based on the legitimate interests of the cancer Foundation.

The data you provide to the Cancer Foundation is only handled by personnel who are so entitled to do so by virtue of their work. Personnel responsible for processing applications are bound by a confidentiality obligation.

Your personal data will be handed over to experts who appraise your application. Information on paid grants is provided to the authorities by law.

Your personal data will be stored for a maximum of 5 years.

Non-electronic material is stored in locked and technically access-controlled areas. Access to the register is restricted to designated persons. Applicants’ linkage to the online service is protected by SSL encryption. Datalink Oy handles the technical makeup, implementation and maintenance of the online grant application system.

When processing your personal data, no automatic decision-making or profiling is performed. Cookies are not a linked to personal data.
